The School Day

Before School

The school day officially begins at 8.45am, however children can come into school any time between 8:35 and 8:45am.   Reception and KS1 children enter via the KS1 playground gate and KS2 children enter via the car-park gate.

Reception and KS1 children who arrive at school before 8.35 are able to wait in the KS1 playground, however parents/carers must wait with their child/children until they are allowed into the building at 8.35am.

KS2 children enter via the car park gates and these are not open until 8.35am.

You can help your child by making sure that they arrive at school punctually.  It is very difficult and unsettling for children who are regularly late and missing valuable lesson time.

Children who arrive late to school, after 8.45am, must enter through the main entrance.  For safety reasons children who arrive late must be accompanied to the school office by their parent/carer where they will be added to the daily register before they go to class.

End of the Day

At the end of the school day children Reception and KS1 children are collected from the KS1 playground and KS2 children from the KS2 playground.

All children are placed directly into the care of an adult known to the school.   Children in Year 6 are able to make their own way home providing the school has received written permission from the child’s parent/carer.

If you are going to be unavoidably late collecting your child, please call the school office and inform the admin team who will relay the message to the class teacher. The children will then be reassured and asked to sit and wait safely in the school.

We encourage children to walk or scoot to school but please note that safety reasons electric scooters are not allowed onto the school grounds.  Children must not ride their bicycles and scooters on the school premises and must dismount at the school gates; again, this is for safety reasons

We also ask that great care be taken with parking, as the area outside the front entrance of the school can become very congested at the beginning and end of the school day. Please observe the road markings and please do not block the driveways of the houses close to school.

For safety reasons we ask that playground climbing frames are not used before or after school.

Your support in keeping our children and our school safe is very much appreciated.
