Letter from Governors

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

It has been an amazing year for Bearwood.

I am sure you are as excited as we are to see just how well the school has been doing this past year, and the fact that it is achieving even its stretch goals, way surpassing all expectations at the beginning of the year.

There have been some planned and unplanned changes that have been very well communicated but the school, parents, carers and most importantly the children, have taken these in their stride, risen to any challenge and just got on with it which is great to see.

We are very pleased with our results throughout the whole school. We are working above the expected standards and exceeding national averages in many areas. This is throughout Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The continuation of the positive learning attitude and growth mindset of the children, so easily recognised during our governor walks, is so wonderful to see and the results really do go to show just how much of a journey the school has been on for the past few years, and how well it is doing to get things back to how we all want them to be. We would like to thank the pupils, who have made us very proud by working with a positive learning attitude and growth mindset and wish the Year 6 pupils every success for their exciting futures. We know they will continue to do us proud.

I am sure like ourselves, you would wish to thank Mrs Barlow and her team for all of the hard work and dedication that has gone into achieving this fantastic outcome and after the summer break, we look forward to another hard working and successful year ahead for all concerned in Bearwood Primary School.

We wish you a very happy summer and hope that you will enjoy some quality time with your families.

Kind regards.

 Mission Statement

Raising Aspirations, Raising Standards, Raising Citizens

Vision

We  aim to be an outstanding, values based school at the heart of our culturally diverse community  striving for excellence enabling our children to be independent learners and to achieve their highest potential in all areas of the curriculum.

Everyone is a learner and every experience is a learning opportunity.

Bearwood Primary School is an exciting, enjoyable and inspirational place to work. All visitors tell us that it has a special ethos that encompasses you as you enter the school.

Learning and working together, we value highly the positive relationships we have built between children, parents, staff, governors and our neighbouring communities.

I have been the Head Teacher at Bearwood since 2002 and have had the privilege to work with the children that have attended here over the years. It is a very friendly school, with a strong family ethos, where children are encouraged to become confident, caring articulate citizens who use their abilities to the full. We expect our children to rise to the challenges they are given, to meet them enthusiastically, positively and to learn from them. We provide a calm and happy atmosphere and set high standards of respect, courtesy, hard work and achievement for all children and adults.

This website offers an insight into our school- our aims, curriculum, events and ethos. You are warmly encouraged to visit the school where you will experience first hand the happy, inclusive environment and our philosophy around teaching and learning.
