Re: Reception Admissions September 2023
Congratulations on securing a Reception class place for your child at Bearwood Primary School. We look forward to your child joining us in September 2023. This is an exciting, important milestone in your child’s life, and we want to make sure it is as successful as possible.
I am delighted to be able to tell you that as we have received over 30 successful applications this year, your child will be in one of two very small classes. This will help to ensure the best possible start to your child’s educational journey. Each class will have less than 20 children. This means our teachers will really be able to get to know each child individually, and effectively plan for their learning needs.

In June we will arrange for you and your child to come and meet with Mrs Johnson (our EYFS Lead) or Mrs Haden (our Assistant Headteacher for EYFS and KS1) so we can find out some additional information about your child. This meeting is not expected to last longer than 15 minutes. It will help us to be properly prepared for your child starting in one of our Reception classes. Please bring your child with you to this meeting, along with your child’s birth certificate. You will receive another letter with your appointment date and time.
On Wednesday 5th July at 2pm, you and your child are invited back into school. During this time, your child will meet their Reception class teacher, and get to spend time in their new Reception class. Whilst your child is getting a taste of what Reception is like, you will be in the hall, finding out what to expect when your child starts.
